Thought it would be fun to go on a bug hunt with Macro today. Although, the date wasn’t as productive as I would have liked. You think there would be bugs everywhere but I guess living in a well manicured neighborhood isn’t a good breeding ground for bugs; too much pesticides, chemicals and such. After a couple of hours walking and searching, we came upon a fly devouring another…
Nice macro shots Emily. Details on the bug are amazing for a close-up filter.
Yucky Yucky Yucky! That last one is very impressive. I’m surprised at how good that screw on macro glass is. It’s doing a great job for you.
I know… they are yucky. As interesting as it may be to see all the details, I get queasy when looking at them. The macro filter works well though not the easiest for bugs with wings. It requires patience and very slow moment because you need to get really close to the subject to focus. 🙂
That is completely creepy. And I absolutely love the colors and composition of both shots. What’s the lens?
Thank you for the comment. For this shot, I used Nikkor 18-55mm with a screw on macro glass. It’s cheap and works well for what I do. 🙂
