Slowly But Surely

Finally, after more than 30 days of consecutive rainy weather — we had a sunny day last Friday. Took the opportunity to go on a photo walk at the yearly Skagit Valley tulip festival where you can see millions of colorful variety of tulips in bloom. Even though it has been a slow blooming year due to the cold — judging from these blooming tulips, slowly but surely… spring has finally sprung.

    • Lol… me too. Hopefully, the weather will be rain free today or tomorrow so I can get a “few” more shots. Thanks for stopping by Trina. 🙂

    • Don’t feel bad John. These tulips have been pampered and well groomed. That’s why it cost $5 to see them. Thanks for the compliment. 🙂

    • I like the light on this shot too. Though, I had my head twisted in a position that I didn’t think was possible to get it. 😉

    • Our spring barely got here. The temperature is still cooler than normal. Glad you noticed the selective DOF. That was exactly what I had in mind. 🙂

  1. When I was young, I would travel with my Mother and Grandmother to the Tulip Festival in Holland, Michigan. You have captured their beauty in these photos, Emily. I have never seen those top ones before. Love the soft pastels to that!

    • Thank you Leslie. It was fun photographing the tulips from different perspectives. As for the varieties, I think there are probably hundreds of them. It’s interesting they all have different names. And of course I didn’t get the names of the tulips I shot.
